Soft top, windshield cord

The duece i picked up Tuesday, from Eglin AFB, was missing the cord from the front of the soft top. The stitches were gone and the cord was not in the windshield.
Anyone know where I could find a length of rubber that matches that profile? I could sew a new one back on. I'd hate to toss a perfectly good top because of such a little flaw.

More than likely it is a j-channel plastic piece and not a cord.

You can get the j-channel at any boat uplostrery shop. They can sew it on for you also.

I have bought the strips for ~$5.

You can just sew a loop on (like a hem) and insert a piece of rope(about 3/16" dia), that is how the older canvas tops were made.

yes you are right its the rubber channel stripping.... Thanks I'll try a boat upholsterer, god knows theres plenty of them down here
I do upholstery as a hobby when another hobby demands it, I'll be able to handle it if i can find the parts.
Thanks again Warthog, your input is priceless
