Looking for some good salvage yards in Southern California. It seem Most info is out of date for this region and all the good ones closed up. Looking specifically for m38a1 parts.

No promises but the So Cal Military Vehicles Collector's Club
has a swap meet once a month at AMVETS, in Irwindale,
on Los Angeles St. Lots of good nuggets roll thru there.

The SCMVCC is under new management too.

It's all good...

Here is a copy of the latest newsletter if your interested.

Ya, i went to that one, once, and well ....its was sad. Its a long drive for me. There were about 5 stalls, and 4 were selling clothes. Sure some good stuff at times im sure. Just one time really put me off, and the editor was suppose to meet me there and he didn't.

The SCMVCC

Alas, It is actually picking up though.
It is under all new management and growth orientated they are.
Things are being done as one would expect and THEN SOME.

Member PiperCub came out for the first time 3 months ago
selling his wares and now we can't get rid of him! ;-)
Something about makin' money and lots of it...

Yep there are always guys selling the old clothes.
It is AMAZING how much of it actually sells AND
how many folks come JUST for clothes!

"I" am excited for the club. Members who would not come in
the the recent to far past are now showing up, there is water and restrooms
and I seem to leave w/ a new trinket or a quality networking lead regularly.
...and the SCMVCC Swag is NICE, and CHEAP!

So it is on an upswing for sure, sellers need to bring lots of quality wares
and sell at fair prices and stick it out and the word will get out
that it is not so "sad' as indeed it WAS in the past.

Super hot temps beat it down, stay tuned.

It's certainly a good place to meet great people and get some good prices on stuff! Last time I came home with a big box of hydraulic parts, wire harnesses, and pins for the whopping price of $20:smile: I'll be missing the next few meetings though, probably until January. It's a great show but I'd have to get a Ferrari to drive from Flagstaff-Irwindale-Flagstaff to be ready to get up at 7 on Monday:driver:

So. Cal. scrap yards with M38 parts is kinda rare. The couple yards I know of don't have stuff that old anymore.
