Going on 2 years as a deuce owner and realized I haven't started a thread yet. Actually purchased from another SS member. From my research and convo with the previous owner I am the 3rd or 4th owner of this machine after DRMO.

First things first, details....
1971 Kaiser Jeep M35A2. Basic truck, mutli-fuel engine, manual, no winch, troop seats, soft bed/cab tops, 2 spare Michelin tires/wheels. Runs great. Previous owner(s) added a 1 ton bed crane, spin on filter adapters under the hood (very awesome), 2 inch rear hitch receiver, 11 x 20.00 tires (GY 177s and 188s).

No big plans other than regular maintenance and some little mods. Bucket seat swap out, cargo lighting (red/white), backup lighting, add in a different horn trumpet, warning/caution stencils, and maybe a cab/bed roof tie in.

Pics....

User schwenk industries is who I got it from.
Looks like he last logged in June 2018.

My understanding is the truck came from WI. DRMOed there then to private owner (SS member), then to schwenk, then to me.

It has had a ripped top (tree branch from storm by 1st owner) but the repair job was done extremely well.

Found my notes today. 99% sure this truck came from Pewaukee, WI. Pretty sure it was once owned by Todd Martin. Not sure what his SS handle is/was.

Cargo Lights

So many projects, so little time....installed some removable cargo lights this weekend. My dad found a 6 pack of 12v compartment lights while cleaning out his garage a while back. In order to make 'em work for 24v I swapped out the 12v bulbs for omnivolt LEDs (3red, 3white), a trio of round magnets, some wire, a .50cal can and boom. The heads are held in place to the bows with magnets and the whole she bang fits in the ammo can so I can take it all down and store it. They run on 10-30vdc so for now I use an 8AA battery holder (8aa=12v) to run them, but also have the option to direct wire it in to the truck if I want. It's not mil-spec or anything but makes a big difference even in the day time.

Toy boxes

I've had a couple of medium sized shipping crates in the garage for a while. Just got around to staining/painting them up. Nothing fancy, just boxes holding extra parts, bungees, rope, tarps, chain, 2x4s, blankets, etc.

Another small update. I posted a poll in the body section about painting the safety stencils and the colors. For now I have painted up some sheet magnet in rattlecan green and dark brown.
