When in the morning cool my 1038 will start up after a 10 second warming wait without failure. Now, if I warm the engine on a Sunday morning on a short trip for coffee and turn it off, I cant restart without hitting it with a shot of starting fluid. If I don't have starting fluid and I give it a 10 second attempt at starting the bendix starts to grind the flywheel, which ends up locking up. I think its the throttle magnet not returning to the start position, and the new starter being worn in its short 6 month life (but a hard one). Any info or direction would be greatly appreciated.
