The Old Deuce in parade

There's a small Podunk town south of me that has an annual 3-day "Goose Festival" with a parade that falls on the 2nd day. Fenville is know for farming and goose hunting (hence the goose festival) A couple weeks back I had my Deuce outside, parked in front of one of the barns. An older gentelman was driving by and pulls in and asks if I would run the truck in their parade thats coming up. He said they never had a military truck participate in the parade before and would like to see it down there to run in the parade, to represent the American Soldiers both past and present. I couldn't say no for that reason alone, but I like driving the thing, so any excuse to drive the deuce is a good enough reason for me.

Saturday was the parade day, so me and the wife drove down there, ran the parade and stayed for the festivities. We had a good time, and we'll go back again next year.

I had forgotten to take my camera, but luckily I had found a picture of it that someone else had taken of the parade on another website.

Ridgerunner nice call on the parade. I bought my deuce this fall and have yet to do a parade. I am looking forward to next spring/summer. There are quite a few small town parades around where I live. There are also a couple of car shows that I will enter the M35 in. I look forwar to talking to the Vets and maybe finding a few new friends and contacts interested in military vehicles. I am going to start a "Logbook" for Vets to write their thoughts on the deuce/stories in. Bob

Ridgerunner I've never seen the tools mounted in the side like that before! Did it come that way or is that custom? I'm assuming with the bobbed job it is custom...
cyber.....It's non stock that way. The pioneer tool rack was originally under the Deuce 12' cargo bed right above the spare tire. I can't take credit for placing it there. When I was cutting up the truck and fitting the box, Pierre Jalving stopped by ( he has a huge collection of MV's, A+ condition and he's a 100% purest) anyways, he asked what I was going to do with the pioneer rack that was sitting on the pile of parts. I replied, not sure because I didn't know where it would fit and look right with the shorty box. He grabbed it off the pile and held it up on the side like you see, and it looked good and fit good, so I went with it.
