Called the Michelin dealer, they want $1400 for the XZL! That's insane!
Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
What he said. Just considering the amount of material in a tire that large, its no wonder that they cost that much. It's a large tire with a very limited run rate - both those factors add up to something with a list price unlike anything you'll put on the family car at K-mart.
If that was the case we'd all have them.1400/6 = $233 a piece. That is not unreasonable at all for a 46" tall tire made by arguably the best tire company on the planet.
Only as surplus, not from a Michelin dealer. They cost WAY more than that.I priced those exact tires about two months ago and they were running 350 a piece, brand new.
Yep. Tax dollars or company dollars (depending on source) covered the up-front cost that you get at the dealer.Only as surplus, not from a Michelin dealer. They cost WAY more than that.
Stuart,I just bought 8 new, never been on the ground and shrink-wrapped 16.00R20's for $250 each.
