Toggle Switch with Green Light

OK, I just got an M1008 from Ft. Gordon and I found a switch I can't identify. I looked through the TMs and did several searches, but I couldn't find the answer.

It is a toggle switch with a green light next to it where the controls would be if it was the ambulance model. It is right under the heater controls. When the battery is hooked up, the light was on whether I had the key in or not. I flipped the toggle and it went out, but I didn't notice any other changes. I know I could trace the wires when I have the dash apart later, but I didn't know if anyone knew what it was off hand.

The only other info I can think of that might be relevant is that the truck has an antenna on the top and looks to have had a radio mounted to the right of the heater controls. It also had a mic holder for the radio in that same general area.

Thoughts?

If you know of a similar post on this topic, please let me know how you found it so I can learn how to use the search better, because I couldn't find it.

I guess, but I don't see any wires where I think the radio used to be. Here is a picture of the bracket. I will try to get a picture of the light later.

Hmm, not sure then, we got two of these trucks at the firehouse and neither of them have the switch yours has...

My bet is power for the missing radio and the green light is the pilot light to remind the previous owners to turn the power off to the radio to keep from damaging the radio when starting and/or to keep the battery from being discharged by the radio.

I have one on my truck as well (which I purchased from FT. Gordon also) and I am almost positive (from reading somewhere) that the switch was to control the arctic heater/swingfire pump. Here is the link:

A 1031 I got from GL had a European Nokeia "car kit" to run an older style cell phone antenna, headsets ect. I found a little box hidden away under dash and reserched it on line. It had a green lighted toggle switch.

Mine looks similar. My toggle is on the right and goes up and down, but it could be the same thing. I will research it further. Thanks!
