i think just about all the origional pto's were mechanical on these trucks mostly driving forward mounted winches mechanically. Im sure you can find aftermarket hydraulic PTO's that will fit the tranny. How much flow do you need.

No, I've already got a transfercase-mounted hydraulic PTO unit (two of them actually - anybody need one?). These are both the type that engage/disengage. I'm just wondering what the specs are on these.

These are not hydraulic PTOs. They can provide complete engine horsepower to whatever they are running. The flow and PSI depends on the pump you drive with them. They are used to operate the winch on an M756A2, bed accessories on an M764, the pumps on M49 and M50 trucks and the cranes on the M108 and additionally the winch on the rear of the M60 via a power divider.

Kenny is right. They do have a hyd pump (oil pump) in them to lube them but that's it.

I do have one driving a hyd pump on my truck via a driveshaft.

Oh man, I feel like an IDIOT. Of course you're right. I knew that, I swear... I decided NOT to buy the hydraulic pump that was on the truck I got one of these PTO's off of because I had no idea what the specs were.

Ty,

Are you pleased with that pump? Does it make a lot of noise or give you any trouble?

Also, how do you have it mounted? Is it surface mated to the PTO via an adaptor or do you have it further aft on a SAE mounting bracket and driveshaft coupling?

Thanks bro,

Rick
