Kubota D905-E engine

Need air/oil/fuel filter numbers (Found)
Light Bulb part numbers also. (Want a few spares). (Found)

I know what the Kubota tractor dealership has, but would like to know what others are running on their units.

Listing pictures on other units don't show filter numbers.
I pick mine up next week and it's without fluids/filters.

A TM doesn't exist, just a TO, but it is a very, very rare thing indeed.

Update;
Found 3 TO's on the NF-2D.
A US AeroSpace company has them. I've emailed a request and will update when I hear back.

update 2: The company didn't have them after all.

As stated in first post, filters are not there.
Their gone and all fluids drained. Filter bases are sealed from elements.

Pick it up next week and want filters already in hand.

I did finally find the original Kubota generator engine Manual.
These came with the light sets from factory.

You should also consider posting on Smokestak.com in the military generator section. Sometimes the guys over there might have stumbled across info we don't have over here or already have same unit you are purchasing . Just a thought.
reference: https://www.smokstak.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=79
I will do that.

I think only 25 of these units have ever been sold by GP, so their kind of a rare breed for sure.

I emailed Unicor.gov today and requested any information they might still have on these sets.
Not very optimistic, but worth a try.

Edit: Unicor never responded.......shocker.

SUCCESS!!!!

Called Kohler this morning.
Cusromer service was extremely helpful!

Told him what I had and the model/serial numbers.
He knew by that when it left factory and still had a complete users manual on file.

Sent it to me in PDF format

Exactly what I was looking for.
Its not a TM by any means, but still works.

I had sent Kohler an email days earlier and never heard back.

Now to figure out how to post a PDF file........

Service and parts manuals acquired.
Will be uploading them to the TM section shortly.
Thanks to "Kevin K" over at SmokStak

Still on the hunt for the extremely elusive TO.

EDIT
Service manual isn't wanting to load for whatever reason.
The operators manual was inadvertently added to the TM upload post

Finally picked it up at Red River Army Depot.

Start the process of bringing it back to life tomorrow.

That enclosure looks vaguely familiar! If you look at my post #7 in my thread below you can see what one looks like when repainted:
https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?144001-MEP-002a-transplant-into-NF-2&highlight=
That turned out really nice!

Yea, this one of course has the Kubota Diesel engine and Kohler 7kw generator.
Besides missing filters and TO manual, everything is there.
Including maintance records!
One tire needs replaced. Wasn't just flat but something very recently slashed into it. Thanks GP!!!!

I wanted a light tower since sometimes on the ranch, work needs done at night and headlights don't cut it.
The fact it can also power a small house is an extra benefit.
My current Generators I can't run in the rain so this is why I bought this one. The enclosure is built like a tank.
Can't beat it for the price.

Yeah, if I had run across a NF2D with the nice Kubota Diesel and 7kw Kohler diesel I would have just painted enclosure (wife is a stickler for aesthetics when it comes to me dragging stuff home) and then utilized it 100% as is.

On the other hand, the NF2 I purchased with Onan CCK and 2kw gen head just wasn't going to be enough to use as back-up power for my barn and shop with 220V well, water heater, etc. So the Onan genset got sold off and I was left with a free enclosure to shelter my MEP-002a. It has worked out quite well as a mobile MEP-002a shelter and there is even enough room to service it with ease.

Also, glad to hear the guys at SmokStak located some of the manuals you were looking for.

Still waiting on fuel filters and radiator cap to show up. Oil filter showed up this evening.
But she's ready.
New Optima Red Top
All new fuel hoses and new fan belt
Already filled with Mobil 1 Delvac and fresh Prestone 50/50.

Fuel tank (9 gallons) is now full and Seafoam/two-cycle oil already added.
Drained old fuel and cleaned tank out. Some debris but no water or algae!

Pulled glow plugs today and squirted some oil into cylinders.
GPs looked really good.

The fact the engine/gen slides out for maintenance is very nice!!!
Makes everything so easy!

Wednesday she should be making power.

Have to go aviate for a few days.

That slide out for maintenance is a very nice feature. Between that and the Kubota engine I'm quite jealous!

Just wondering...if one were to want to connect a NF2D unit up to a house inlet box/transfer how would that be accomplished? I don't see any distribution load terminals or any type of output bulkhead connector on it. The manual you provided seems to reference customer supplied cable but I did not see where it would connect up to in the schematic as far as connector J #'s go...
