Upper Radiator hose for M1008

Good evening everyone;
I am the proud owner of a M1008. It would appear that the previous owner scammed me a bit and either disconnected the temp sensor or it isn't working. Anyways, when driving it home, it overheated a bit a blew out the upper radiator hose with a small split. I ran down to my local O'Reilly's and they set me up with the civilian version, the problem is, it won't fit. My original hose is shorter, but has a greater diameter. Was there a specific one for the military J-code? I've searched here and everyone seemed to agree that the civilian one would fit. I ran the Gates code and I was handed the correct hose for a civilian k30 with a 6.2 Detroit. Any recommendations? This week, I'll run both hoses over to see if they can find me the correct hose.
Thanks from Northern Maine.

The -34P Technical manual for the CUCV is nothing but exploded views of the entire truck. Here is a link to access the manuals:

Page 30-1 of the -34 shows the upper radiator hose and the Delco part number:

14036744

This is an Amazon link to the gates part that matches up to that Delco number:

I just ordered this part myself for one of my trucks and it hasn’t shown up yet. However, following the -34P Delco number to Google and Amazon has worked every time in the past for me.

Try rubbing some coolant on the inside of the hose to lube it, it's hard to tell without being there but it looks like the inside diameter is juuuuust large enough with some slippery stuff on it to slide onto the thermostat housing.

If that fails I'd get a hold of the parts guys and see if the manufacturer mislabeled the hose, side by side comparison with another new one will tell.

The Pics aren't the best, the hose I was given almost fits inside the opening on the radiator. My next stop is to try and find a good parts guy.
