Hello,

I leave my driveway and head down the road 1/4 mile and the diesel knock goes away i figured because she warmed up...the other day it did not go away and had it all day. other than cold start solenoid, is there an advance type mechanism that effects the pump? I will check the TM's but thought someone might give me a heads up as it usually takes me hours to find what i need in the tm's

Thanks

The cold start solenoid controls both the high-idle mechanism and advances the injection pump timing. You can replace the solenoid, be careful not to over tighten or it will break. Or do what i did; installed a manual toggle switch in my dash so I can leave it on a little longer if I'm going up a hill while its still not fully warmed up.
