My pump is peeing out the weep hole...Part # 352-2149 best I can tell. But in the CAT pic, it dont look right/like mine. $521ea. dang....
Yea thats not the right p/n for the 3116 pump…
There are at least 2 pumps used on the 3116. The standard highway version and the Agricultural version. Not sure if the marine version uses a different WP. I believe the 7AG in our s/n denotes this as an AG engine.
The pumps rear housings bodies are the same and are interchangeable, The Ag pump has an added -12 port on top of the front housing, that the large 3/4” line from the bottom of the expansion tank connects to. Strictly speaking you don’t need this line, and could run either pump, it will just take you a little longer to fill the system from the expansion tank pressure cap if you have to drain it. Or you can fill it from the bottom like I do.
they also modified the pump for the lmtv installation as the knuckleheads at S&S decided to send all the bypass coolant to the trans cooler(why these trucks run so cold after startup). so they cutoff the cast bypass inlet pipe on the pump housing, machined the inside and installed a freeze plug. unless you are going to cat with the exact s/n of your engine, it is likely you will need to modify any pump you do get from any other supplier to maintain this bypass…
they did away with this coolant bypass to trans cooler “feature“ on the 3126/C7 installations…
I re-configured my cooling system back to how cat designed(bypass coolant back into water pump) so it warms up to op temp properly and I also did away with that 3/4 line and shifted to the more common highway water pump. videos on my youtube channel, username Rronmar Will show what they did to the lmtv pump And how I reconfigured mine for my RV build.
keep looking at the suppliers you will eventually catch one with the right picture showing that added port. Ericks Military has some good pics of the correct P/N 5R9022
https://www.eriksmilitarysurplus.com/wapuform3c31.html but that pic shows the pump with the unmodified bypass inlet pipe, so still not quite right for a plug and play install.
this would be a good time to fix your cooling system. Order the standard highway pump, and run the 3/4” makeup line from the bottom of the exp tank down to the port on the trans cooler. This would help the engine warm up to proper op temp with less coolant bypassing the thermostat. Then you won’t need a special/modified pump…
aren’t LMTV’s fun
Good Luck
