A few months? ago I popped off in a thread about seeing a Command Car and somebody asked for photos. It took me a while, but I was back in the promised land today. It was parked here after a parade in 1962. Glen

Like I said before, it is very solid and he has all of the parts except canvas. No rust in this one, not even in the battery box or the tread plates in the foot wells. I just wish I could have purchased it. Glen

WC-57 for sale for $24K in Palm City Florida

It's on Craig's List in the Treasure Coast area of Craig's List. Really looks nice for the price considering the age of the vehicle and the mileage (41,390). Sorry i cannopt post the link to the vehicle because it is "against the rules".

That is a different Command Car, but for the dollars the guy that bought the one locally for, he would have been better off with the Florida car. He will be way over that by the time he gets his restored. Glen

I have always wanted one of those ever since I saw a movie with Charlton Heston driving one that had a light bar on top but they all need power steering and a more powerful motor. I had an M37 that was harder to steer than an M35A2! The price on the one here in Florida is very reasonable.

Surely there was something wrong with your steering??
We have several M37s/variants...they all drive/steer very well.

Not doubting you in anyway, just seems odd to me.

Command cars are the best, great to grab the family and go to the drive in or out for a night in town, I really enjoy mine, lots of work to bring it back but very worth it. It looks very proud sitting in my garage and always starts right up willing to go show it's self off :)

Eric..

Those Command cars are nice. And if you want to talk Command Car:

- HERE'S a Command Car. It was Rommel's in North Africa.

- Might have been a one-of-a-kind item (I'm not sure).

I ran across it by accident looking for other dope on E.R. Guess I'll start a thread about it, and see if anybody knows about the thing:

Looks like a matador command vehicle captured from the British!
Nice call, trucknut; captured from the British is correct (Rommel had two).

- For record, it was designated the AEC Dorchester (4x4) "Mammoth" (German "Mammut")

And I only know this because I had to look it up myself (after an ID by CARNAC).
