Srjeeper, no way we can make that...but here's what we are doing locally...Nov 7 we are participating in a Veterans Day Parade in Manchester, GA...about 35 miles away...this is an annual event and most locals are Vietnam Vets. We will bring 12 MV's in addition to all the other stuff the locals have. They line the streets with signs saying "THANK YOU" and "God Bless Our Troops" etc,. It's a moving experience...and I ain't even a Veteran...just a Retiree.
(OH...and we get to throw candy at kids)
On the 14th of Nov. we will participate in a Veterans Day Parade here in Columbus, GA. Some say it's the first one in 30-40 years depending on who you ask. Bottom line is...no one can remember the last one
Our group and some others have banded together to make this thing happen. So far 70 units have signed up.
I am very excited as all our hard work...and that of others is about to pay off
This is the year of the Veterans IMO...and as SasquatchSanta opined...it's a little too late for some....but for those who are still here, we will send the message loud and clear:
WELCOME HOME BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!! AND THANK YOU
