Got the 5 ton all bobbed and runs great. All air ride now on the rear. torque bars and leveling valve runs SO much better now.
A lot less weight. Took 51" off the frame and out of the center of the bed.

Nice looking truck..... should be model for a TONKA TRUCK OR HOT WHEELS. Do you have some build pictures to share? So far I have resisted getting the tape measure out and sizing up my Deuce or 5 ton. I may have to build a Rat Rod to take the cure. Glad you shared your handy work. Mark

That's neat how you kept the characteristic 5-ton "kick up" in the front of the bed.

Post some pictures of the rear suspension and the build. Good looking truck.

Nice job on the 5 ton Bill. I know you have alot of hours logged under that truck. I think you really nailed the wheel/tire configuration and the overall length of the truck. We just bought an M931A2 (91) in NJ last weekend and drove it home to Pgh. Take a look at our video if you get a minute. The seller/builder was Paul and he did a great job on the truck.

I like the truck. Can easily be switched to rear air ride. I got mine from a crook in ohio. Spent a lot of time in fuel stops myself.

Sweet truck, how much does it weigh?

I have a nice 931A2 that I am thinking about changing the rear to air ride single axle, adding a bobbed 923 bed with a dump bed. I am just curious what your truck weighs if you have weighed it. I think Mine would be in that neighborhood.

We think the truck weighs in the neighborhood of 11000 - 12000 lbs as it sits now. We will be taking it to a local scale as soon as we get it out of the garage. We are currently working on some cabin mods. battery relocation, air ride seats and 12 volt electrical upgrade.

You might be surprised. I hauled some stuff to the landfill and got a net of 10,900# on my bobbed deuce! I would've guessed under 10,000.

My 925a2 weighed in at 19,200 after I bobbed it but it's still carrying the spare tire, davit crane, and has a subframe dump under the bed
