Wellnut question

I will be installing two new wellnuts. The question i have is do you guys put telfon tape?

I don't. Bits of Teflon tape are said not play nice with diesel injectors, and I have never wanted to put it to the test.

Great memory! Yes, the inner thread is 1/4-18 NPT (National Pipe Taper) taper thread.

That being said. No telfon correct?

No teflon. The taper will seal the threads. There are instances where tape/dope is needed in a tapered thread application, but its not this one. This is not a pressurized fitting, just static pressure from the fuel.

You are braver than I. I've never had a tapered thread seal properly without some form of sealant

If it makes the OP feel better, use a fuel rated thread sealer
