Wema Fuel Sender For mep 803a

I am going to clean out my fuel tank because the tube with the screen filter is rusted. I want to replace the fuel sender with the Wema style sender, I thought I saw a thread on the part number to do this but I can only find the info fro an 802. If anyone has done this do you have the part number or size and ohm rating needed to do this for my 803? Or maybe point me to the thread on this info

Here's some additional info
The 803 uses the same sender just in an 8 1/2" instead of the 5 1/2" length.
But pay attention to the notes about the possibility of it rubbing on the lower rear wall inside the tank.
I've typically epoxied plastic rings to the base of the sender ( just big enough to fit through the opening in the tank ) to prevent the float from touching the side of the tank.

Follow up on the Wema fuel sender, I put in the 8.5 version and put a plastic spacer on the bottom of the sender, after I got it in I don't think it needed it maybe it's needed for an 802. My Beede fuel gauge was pegged all the way over to passed empty and stuck so I took it out and loosened the screws on the gauge and tapped on it and the needle came up to empty. Put it all back together and it's working great. My tank was full of rust from the old sender and the fuel strainer, Ive seen where other people have had this issue so I dumped the strainer tube and cut the holder off at the filler neck so I won't have this issue again. I just have to make sure and pour clean fuel when refilling

Thanks for the follow up, and I'm glad that you got it working.

There are third party strainers to be had; I tend to assume that diesel isn't clean, and refueling tends to occur in less than perfect conditions. But maybe that's just me.

Regarding the plastic spacer, an 802 does not have the "drop off" in the bottom of the tank and therefore does not have the side wall interference potential, this is why the 802's sender is only 5 1/2" long. Your tank may not need the spacer, it all comes down to how flat the top of your plastic tank is. Any distortion in the wrong direction will make your sender's float touch that side wall drop off and hang up.
