What are the chances it'll run?

this is Based off my previous thread about the m1009 I just won out of Warner Robbins, GA, which is missing the air filter and cover, cdr valve and crankcase vent tube, and tailgate. What are the chances that the motor is shot? Both alternators and batteries are there. The injection pump wires are there but are not hooked up and the vaccum hoses to the injection pump are missing. Wonder if After replace these missing pieces it will fire up?

Best if you either add this to the other thread or at least added a link.

Continuation of the tread is much better. You know when you get it, knowing the background will help with solving your issues.

I give you a 60/40 split... Sometimes they take a perfect truck and one must die so others may live.. Then keep picking away at it like vultures..:-D Or she has some major issues and is that way for a reason.
I figured if the motor was shot then they would at least yank the alternators and batteries. It supposedly only has 43k miles on it, the seats look basically new and the rest of the interior is in great shape, and the tires look new

Put everything back on it and give it a try.I have gotten many of these in various states of being taken apart and most fired right up after putting the parts back were they belong.
That's what I'm hoping will happen. I've found and bought all the missing pieces except for the tailgate

Worst case scenario is you have to replace the motor. CUCV motors are around and the HMMWV motors are very plentiful. It is not a straight swap, though, with a HMMWV motor. The motor is the same, but some of the parts on the motor are not (e.g., manifolds, etc.). Hopefully, it won't come to that. Good luck!
