Anyone know what is the weight of a typical stripped M1165A1 as is sits in the Govplanet Yard?
No doors, complete hardtop roof/cabin. Just trying to gauge trailer weight and what kind of trailer capacity is required.

Any double axle trailer will handle it. Most are 8 to 10k rated

Your average 7k car trailer is just a little on the light side, as the trailer itself is usually over 1k lbs, so you really need an 8 or 10k rated trailer to haul one of these properly.

Also keep in mind some states (or maybe all of them?) require any driver towing a trailer over 10k lbs, or a trailer that is RATED for over 10k lbs gross weight, to have a class A CDL.

I picked up my M1151A1 with a 14k trailer. I weighed the combination at a CAT scale on the return trip and found the HMMWV weight to be just under 8,000 lbs. With trailer weight included, a 10k trailer wouldn't have been safe in my opinion. Rules and regs vary slightly by state, but this flow chart helped me to determine whether my particular situation required a CDL.

Humvee
The High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle is a family of light, four-wheel drive, military trucks and utility vehicles produced by AM General. It has largely supplanted the roles previously performed by the original jeep, and others such as the Vietnam War-era M151 jeep, the M561 "Gama Goat", their M718A1 and M792 ambulance versions, the Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle, and other light trucks. Primarily used by the United States military, it is also used by numerous other countries and organizations and even in civilian adaptations. The Humvee saw widespread use in the Gulf War of 1991, where it navigated the treacherous desert terrain; this usage helped to inspire civilian Hummer versions. I would take anything I read on wiki with a grain of salt and lots of backup research.

As long as you are hauling your own property a CDL will not apply if your home state does not require it. Even if you cross state lines. Some states you can be 80,000lb and not need a CDL. I.e. NY requires an R endorsement for personal vehicles over 26k

The weight really only factors in once you cross state lines for commerce. 10k has to have a medical card etc. On up.
