What is this steering component?

that's kinda what i thought too- didn't realize they had washer fluid pumps, and it looks like its attached to the steering shaft column....wierd.

thanks guys, i looked a little closer at the pic and see a bolt pattern on the firewall where it looks like it belongs. question tho, how is the washer function actuated from inside the cab?

The washer bottle is mounted in the correct place. These were added by the military as part of a kit which was on a Modification Work Order (MWO) that gave all the parts and instructions to put it together. To squirt the windows you should see in the cab a little upside down hook hanging from the dash. This is your manual pump. Yes manual. The thing rocks in an up down motion to pump the fluid from the bottle to the squirter on the hood.
