I've got a line...we'll, actually a deposit on seven 5 ton, beadlock, 'combat' wheels. I also have six, 395/85-R20 'wide carcass' 45.5"x 15.5" XL's. Has someone made up a low cost, like under $100/per, wheel adapters going from 6 on 8-3/4" to 10 on 11-1/4"? I'm about to delve into this search basically for material as I know a couple people with CNC access as I used to work in a CNC machine shop. I think those medium height yet wide stance XL's would look meaner that $h!t on a deuce...and also worth 9mph too!

Hey Tom,

I'd just recenter your wheels - have the existing centers cut out and new centers welded in.

Uh...these aren't quite that easy to just re-center. With these the center IS the outside bead. It's like one big plate with a couple steps pressed into it and the 10 wheel stud holes AND the bunch of holes for bolting the it onto the other side of the can. I'd post a pic, but I'm about 2400 miles from my home computer.

Oh, I've seen the ones that Chuck's has...geeze louise!!! I've priced a 24" hunk of mild steel pipe with inside dia of 8" and outside of 12" between $450 and $600. They're making a killing on those.

HOLLY CRAP 2000 bucks for 4?!?! i can hook you up. looks like about 1 or 1 1/4 thick? ill grab a scrap sheet of 1" T-1 (100,000+tenselse strenght) or if you want ill check my supply and cut out the cicle and you can drill the holes

If you are going super single, the 395/85R20s are the way to go. In addition to higher speed and better traction, you get a signficant 3" more ground clearance. They look damn good as well! I have a set of 7 mounted on custom made beadlock rims. Go tubeless, forget about the split rim killing you and get run flat capability. (Just be sure you flip the hubs to line up the front with the rears.) I have been more than pleased with these. Budget contraints maked them for sale. If you are interested, please let me know.

I have a set of those XML's and those double beadlock wheels on my Rockwelled M715. Like the rubber, dislike the wheel. Mostly because of how poor the craftsmanship was in the set I got. I bought them used from a guy who get them in the spring from our boy Daniel at USA... They leaked from day one, one still does and the machine work on the ones I have is horrible! I worked in a CNC shop and know what type of tolerences accurate and competently run machines will hold. Yours look pretty good, congrats on a good batch!

If you find a lost cost solution for the wheel adapters, please keep us posted. I have several of those 5 ton rims lying around that I could use on a deuce as well.

For those that have inquired about the rims and tires, the rims are $200 and the tires are $100 and up, depending on tread. I also have a super single set (1400R20) for the 5 ton if needed.

Those look about like the right wheels! Even the web site says about the CTIS system that the 'A3's have.

HEY! Can somebody please do something for me? I'm working on CAD design for a spacer in a CAD-CAM program and for stud length (and to try to stay ahead of headaches) I need to know what the thickness is of the wheel mounting flange on the hub of a 5 ton. The part of the hub that the wheel studs are pressed into...how thick? THANKS!!!

spicergear, Just one question, I noticed in the first two pixs that the directional tires on the front are opposite from each other<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_shrug.gif" alt="Shrug"> Does anyone know if theres a purpose for that or is it just a mistake<img src="emoticons/icon_smile_question.gif" alt="Question">

M1075, will the center hole of that combat wheel fit over the outside of the deuce studs? If not, how close do you estimate it is? I have an idea! THANKS!

The Michelin XL's are a directional wheel. They put them on like that so that you can't tell whether it's coming or going from the tracks. Mine will be all the correct way.

The 5 ton center hole will not fit over the studs on the deuce. It lacks about 1/2", but then you are getting close to the bolt holes on the 5 ton rim. Hope this helps. Please keep us up to date on the progress.
