Hello Team,
If you feel like a run for the day, on 20 June, the people raising money to repair the old city pool, would like us to turn out and honor the veterans. This pool was built in about 1950 and was the community pool in the largest neighborhood. Many children spent many a summer day learning to swim and play at this pool.
It was built as a memorial to WW2 Veterans and is the only WW2 memorial in the county. The pool needs a lot of work to bring it back to shape, so community members are raising funds to do the needed repairs, save the memorial, and make a great safe place for the kids to play during the summer. The city council is leaning to tearing up the pool and putting in a basketball court. This is the only facility of its kind in the city and the only memorial.
They would like vehicles and displays to honor all eras of veterans. There is a big grassy area and a large paved area where we can park vehicles and do displays.
I will get up the exact times as their committee gets a better handle on their event. Will keep you all posted. Peter
