I am reworking a set of X-doors. On a few on them, in a few places, the paint is worn through and even some of the gel coat is worn down to the point where you can see the fiber braids. the braids are not frayed, you can just tell that the gel has been worn through. I plan to prime and then paint the entire doors. do I need to take special steps to put a gel back on those spots? if so, any recommendations for what that product would be? As for primer is a good rattle can auto primer sufficient? prefer to not break out the spray gun when I am just doing doors. probably only prime 1 at a time (never seem to have enough time in one sitting to do more).
