Here are two injectors: The one with the "Blue Cap" is for a 6.5L Turbo engine. The one with the "Green and Red Cap" is for the 6.2L non-turbo( nsn: 2910-01-150-0950) Hope the pictures help answer your question.
All of our CUCV's we had in the motorpool used this injector(6.2L) Build date of our CUCV's were 1984,1985,1986.2cents

Yes, Fine thread.

From the world wide web:
1982 6.2's use course thread injectors. All other years use fine thread. All passenger vans and turbocharged trucks use short injectors. The early body style trucks (82-88 ) use long injectors. Late body style trucks (88-newer) use short injectors.

Which is best for m1008(1986) stock form, no mods? And thanks for all your resources you've given. I'm asking if it were you and want to last for a period of time

Injectors

Hey , will the Marine injectors damage my IP or my engine ....GP, early-death, foul up this or that. I'd like to use them if possible but i must remain in a area that will allow our truck to stay around and workable. I'll take your advice and use the info you gave me if(marine) not a good choice. Sure the guys who sell say its OK. Thanks Allenhillview

If you are keeping your engine stock. I wouldn't get the "marine" injectors. They will not get you the extra 40HP. Will they damage your IP....No. Will they damage the engine....more than likely not. There are some cheap injectors out there that could dump to much fuel and melt a glow plug or burn a hole in your piston.2cents

Marine injectors only work to their potential with a marine pump putting out more fuel.
If your staying NA get the long body
If you want to turbo at any point in the future, get the short body

Quality parts are the most important thing with injectors. NO chinese injectors!!!

Thats the best I can ask for I'll use the long body Lucas most likely , see I feel like I need a set on hand if ever out somewhere on a trip. 28,000 today... nothing yet but I know it may happen. Thanks

I've been running these engines for many years, and I've never had a injector suffer a sudden failure. I'd had them get to where there is a lot of white smoke at start up, a trail of white smoke at idle, and I had one stick and started "knocking" on a truck that sat a long time (I bled it and it stopped) but I see no reason to carry around a set of spare injectors. They usually give a lot a warning. If anything, I may carry one spare if I was a nervous type, but there's no way all of the injectors are going to fail all at once on a 6.2/6.5. The chance of a sudden failure is WAY higher with the IP than the injectors.
