M923 wipers

Ok, silly question time... does an M923 have air-driven wipers like the deuces and older 5-tons I'm familiar with? I've never actually sat in one, and I'm wondering what will be in my M923 after my EUC clears and I pick it up. Yes, I bid on it based on the GL pics and video... you know what they say: Mark and his money are soon parted.

I've never been fond of the air-driven wipers. So, if my M923 is going to come with them, then are the M35A3 electric wipers that I've seen pictured on SS compatible with or easily adaptable to an M923 cab? My truck has a soft top, but I may install a hard top if I find a good one at a good price.

They are air, unless already converted.

You will have to lengthen the rods to use the M35A3 Electric wipers. A friend of mine got a set from me and put on his 923. Works great.

Thanks for the pointer! The thread is what got me thinking about the M35A3 wipers, but I didn't want to hijack it before I knew whether my new truck would have electric wipers already.

I havent seen any m939 trucks with electric wipers. You would have to widen the whole setup as well as change the internal arm lenth. If the wipers dont park ALL the way up to the left they are directly in your field of vision(m35-m809 wipers go from 4 oclock to 8 oclock m939 wipers go from 4 oclock to 9 oclock ). The air wipers on these trucks arent the same relics used on the m809 trucks . They are much quieter and much stronger. Im not a fan of air wipers, but these aint so bad.

Cool! Well, I hope that I like the air wipers in my new M923, and I'll look into electric options some more if I don't.

I agree with BOLKBICH. In all of the many M939 series trucks that I've owned or sat in, I have never seen any wipers other than the air wipers. The air wipers in the M939 series trucks are head and shoulders better than the junk in a deuce. I have only had to replace one in over a decade owning that series of trucks, and the motor was the older style...don't even see many of them coming out on trucks.

I sure do drool over that HEMTT, Bruce! I don't know if I'd want one for real, but they sure are cool to dream about.

Now, for my next cart-before-the-horse speculation on the truck I don't even have yet: Shall I single it up to A1 configuration, or leave it with duals? I like the looks of the super singles; not sure if I'd like paying for seven of them with matching rims!
