I needed to replace the sending unit on a M1009. I decided to cut an access panel in the bed instead of dropping the tank.

I guess I got a little carried away. Oppsie

Not really. This is a parts truck I bought a couple of years ago. Someone had fun.

Does that parts truck have a Stanadyne 80 fuel filter base? I'm seeking a couple of used ones.

Ron was pretty excited about another CUCV being cut up.
I thought of Ron when I was reading the "move" thread (about the guy in a CUCV towing a mini). My thought is: if a CUCV is a chock, what is a mini?

When I was a service writer at a repair shop, I saw a surprisingly high number of older pickups that had had access holes cut in the bed to access dead in-tank fuel pumps.

People being too lazy to drop the tank or remove the bed.

Hey I don't know what a stanadyne 80 is but I'll have a good stock square one ready in a few days.

My buddy got me a brand new one from a local national guard , I'll keep only the little pre-heater(white round disk) from the take off.

Changed filter a few days ago and got a little un-easy to do the change till I read more of what could happen when take things loose on that fuel line going over to IP.

May be reading to much into it but its my DD.

Now that the filter change went well I feel more ready.

Anyway, write back.
