Can you convert the M-80 mic to work with a CB?

I have converted the LS-671/VRC Speaker to plug into my CB. Since it has a nifty little mic clip in front, I thought I would like to convert the mic that hangs there (or could) to work with the Uniden (4pin) CB I am using. Has anyone heard of this?

In my OP I forgot to add the specifics of the mics I am trying to mod. I have a CB that is the Cobra 4-pin type and I want to transfer the Cobra mic connector onto the end of the M-80 C/U mic/handset. I don't know which wires from the mil set would go to the mic connector and where. Please help if you can read schematics.

If you can read a schematic enough to tell which wires from the M-80 mic go to the Cobra 4-pin connector, please help.

All you have to do is open the mic, look at where the wires are on the slider switch and copy the pattern to the new mic. Another thing you'll want to check is that the impedance rating is the same on the mic coil. The coil should have the rating printed on the magnet side. If it's not the same, you might consider swapping out the mic element. You don't want the "tin can" effect when you try to talk.
All those years of playing with CBs is finally coming in handy. lol

I have figured out (I think) the first two, the other two I am not sure about. The mics were taken apart but the Cobra mic is a confusing circuit board.

Usually there is a ground and a ptt which when connected to ground causes the radio to key. The outgoing audio from the mic goes out one and shares the gnd.

Sometimes there is receive audio, but that isn't needed here


Figure out by using a small jumper to gnd which one causes it to key... Then you only need to find the mic audio out...

Once you get it so you hear something, you will likely need to get some reliable signal audio checks from someone. The mics are different electrically, but may still be useable.

Btw did you see the updated diagrams to hook all this up through the ls-671 speaker? Http://www.radionerds.com updated to include remote power off also.
