Im in korea right now... but check out this m35a2 moded by the rok army.

That vehicle isn't a moded M35A2. What you've got in those pics is actually a Kia KM250 built in Korea by Kia specifically for the Korean military based on the design of the M35. Many of the parts on that truck are based on the original M35 blueprints but unfortunately doesn't have the Multifuel engine that the A2s are famous for. Those are some great pics though. I've been curious about the KM250s interrior and engine bay!

Finally a Kia I wouldn't mind driving. So when are they supposed to show up on dealer lots in the U.S.? Should move well as the ultimate SUV.

Note the well designed dashboard with AC! Unheard of in a stock deuce here in the US... Proof positive that WE dumped the design too soon for the FMTV trucks.
Personally, I'd rather get one of their diesel closes of the M715!

Soon but don't expect to lease them for $129 per month, with zero due at signing!

We have discussed the Kia built Reo copies several times. They have an M816 copy, an M715 copy, the aforementioned M35 copy and it seems like there was one other model.


All very similar visually but with more modern engines, trannies, etc.

I have yet to confirm this, but it seems to me that they went with the original Spicer 3053A transmission, as well as the T136-27 T-case - in there, unchanged.
Why else would there be exact reproduction spare parts available, made in Korea? (like syncros, gears, or even a complete PTO rear accessory drive...????)

Take a close look at the clutch and brake pedals. I would love to crawl around under that truck!

keep in mind that this is not a M-35A2, it is just based on it. there is no reason to believe that parts from it would actually fit ours even while they may be real close. i was told they used an automatic trans, that one shown clearly has a 5 speed. they also come with power steering, boyce sells the parts. it would be interesting if the trans parts were the same, but so far i doubt it.

If the DOT and EPA would allow KIA to import them they would prob do a land office business in the oil patch.

That is what the A3 deuces should have been like.

Very nice. Kia did a nice job on their deuces. It would be fun to drive one and see how it compares to the M35.
