Steel Soldiers now has a few new forums, read more about it at: New Munitions Forums!
Sounds like a cool project! When do you think you might have some pictures of the bed on the truck?Gimpy is right but, with the Bumperettes it look like it will be just about right, same overhang on the frame as there was on the Deuce.
I put a 12' bed on m932a2,It fits good.I removed the spare tire holder.
Please keep me updated with photos if possible. Thanks for the reply.I am working on the same project. I there are lots of post with adding beds to Tractors.. I am using a Drop Side 2 1/2 ton bed (12 feet long) and installing it behind the cab and moving the spare tire and rack to inside the bed. out of everything I see on here it think FOR ME this is the best cleanest and least work.. No modifying of the bed bows cover or anything just install and go.. Now there are several people trying to keep the 5th wheel hitch under the bed and it is an option. But it seems to add a lot of fabrication and I haven't seen anyone yet be able to keep the bed height down as low as it would be with out the hitch..
Why cant I live next door to you? I checked the photos and it looks great. I will keep you updated on mine. Thanks for the help and reply. Here's the link to what I did: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?82926-M932A1-with-shorter-drop-side-deuce-bed
Check the 5 ton mod section. This is a well covered modification. Good luck ! The forum search function can also help a lot.
I agree with you and should be going down the same route. Keep me posted as I will also. Thanks for the replyI am working on the same project. I there are lots of post with adding beds to Tractors.. I was so darn lucky to get this brand new M35 bed. People in Europe that have done this mod say its bolt on. I dont wont a "bob". I want the same proportions as the 923 I have. 931's are so plentiful here for sale and cheap so this converstion is my way to go. I will keep you posted and good luck to us both.rrr's build thread it great and very detailed.. I will be copying the Tow Bar mount he made. I should pick the bed next weekend and starting a moding post in the 5-ton mods forum with as many photos and info as I can on the build..
