Heavy Hauling with a Deuce

I just used my Deuce to back an MK14 trailer and hook up to another MK14 trailer. The combo is normally hauled by an MK 48 which has a 425hp Detroit. I don't think anyone else has tandem towed this combo with the prime mover being a M35A2 and both trailer's riding on Pintle hitches but my truck can do it. It moved the combo 15 feet tonight with no issues. I will advise that the Oshkosh folks were very smart. They made it so that you could not hook a MK14 trailer behind another unless it was connected to the MK48 as the lights and airlines will not intermix between a towed MK14 and another towed MK14. I have no air, lights or brake's on the second towed MK14. I fixed that by caging the brakes on the second MK14. I did not take them down the road yet but the Multi in the Deuce didn't even feel them back there much in low range!!! I'll bet I can get up to 20 on a flat with my 32,000 pound towed load!!! No one has ever done it, I just had to see. I'll gross out at about 45,000 pounds and about 70 feet combined. I might need some permits. If anyone think's I'm serious about this, enjoy the laugh you should have had by now. Yes they are connected but I won't take it out of the yard like this. If anyone is new and considering doing something like this, you've been warned to not try it!!!

Nobody took the bait. What I wrote was true, I've still got 2 MK 14's in Tandem Tow configuration behind my truck. I plan on hauling the combo to Missouri and dropping the MK14's and driving back. Should take around 2 days at most and I'll bet I can get 62 mph on the flats considering my truck is on 11"s and just run it 2,600 rpm the whole way there and back!!!

Some folks need pics for everything. I followed a sarcastic post with another possibly worse sarcastic post. Enjoy the pics of the two trailers hooked together and hooked behind my Deuce. It did pull them about 20-30 feet in my yard. I was bored and honestly was testing my backing skills after I picked up the towbars and strapped them to the front trailer. I just wanted to see if I could get it hooked to the second trailer and I succeeded. No way in the world would I actually try to tow the combo to Missouri, wouldn't even try that with just one. I would take the combo a mile or two in a desperate situation. DSC05073.jpgDSC05074.jpgDSC05075.jpgDSC05076.jpgDSC05077.jpgDSC05078.jpgDSC05079.jpgDSC05080.jpg

You may want to consider adding some weight to your Deuce, so that those trailer will not lift up the rear of your Deuce and push your truck while braking , also I would consider hooking up the brakes and lights to the second trailer, because you will be taking a chance of having a trailer pass you by under braking .. Good Luck on your trip

I rolled across the scales at a little over 32,000 lbs GVW certified with weight tickets on my move from Ca to Ga. The weights were after I had burnt 345 gallons of fuel that I was carrying in the bed. My Deuce is Bobbed and on 395's. She could hold 55 on the flats pretty easy.
