Hello, I have a question. Can one person (me) remove a soft top off of a 5 ton M923. I need to reduce their height to 93 inches. I need to remove the exhaust, intake, and soft top. Exhaust and intake are obviously simple. But what about the soft top? Is that easy? Need to do that on Tuesday.

Done it a few times. Sometimes the front rail is rusty. A good spraying of silicone might help.

two people does make it easier

For what purpose do you need the height lowered?

You could always remove the wheels.

I've done it before by myself and it isn't easy but doable. If you are parking it in a garage and are going to have to remove it every time you take the truck out, it's going to get old fast.

Oh, if you just need to transport it once, if you have trouble with sliding the front out of the channel, you could roll the top up and just strap it down to the windshield frame.

7/16 nut on the tab that locks it to the windshield frame. Once you have the tab unlocked then pull back on the window cross bar and might have to push just a bit on the windshield. With the cross bar loose it will fold down like its going to hit the seat. The rest of the frame work just pulls out of the back of the cab.
