What is this wire?

Anyone know what this wire is going into the bottom of my steering box? Sorry for the bad pic.

I found this wire as I reinstalled my IP after rebuild. I have no idea..lol Its not on the wiring diagram or schematic.

Sure it is. It's wire # 25. Shown on the schematic above the blackout drive light and below the alternator.

Wire 25 is the horn wire for me...

Yes, wire # 10 feeds the circuit breaker. After that, it's all wire #25 for the horn circuit.

Why would the horn circuit rout into my steering gear box?

Because your horn button is at the other end.

Haha, are they using that as the ground?

Yes, power goes to the air valve, then the wire goes up the column to the horn button. Push the button and you ground the circuit.

Thanx for your help. Woulda taken me a little bit to look for a wire coming from my steering gear box in the horn circuit.

Wow, I just got flash backs from the USAF. Thats what I normally did to my airmen. Haha...so this is what the other side looks like.

I'll teach him about the TMs next time. He did say he did not find it on the schematics. That told me he tried.
