My truck was running fine and hour ago. I took her about 20 miles from the house, stopped and went inside to talk, came back 30 minutes later and now she will not start.

I borrowed a power supply to jumpstart it, but that has not helped, yet.

Anything else I should be looking at?

I am going to let it charge for 15 mins instead of expecting it to start immediately. It might be that the batteries aren't charging.

Seem to have fuel in racor spin on filter and i just filled it up last weekend.

Orange wire..I'll check.

Good thing is that i am in front of a diesel shop, so they will probably help if needed.

After letting it charge for 20 minutes, it started right up. I am going to guess it is an alternator or one of those GEN bulb issues. Anything else I should look at?

Thank you for your suggestions, by the way. I will keep those in my memory bank and remember them if I ever have trouble like this again. :)

I am currently driving home and just passed by my favorite AutoZone. ;)

They hooked up their alternator and battery tester see if it would pass and it did, so once I get home I will start looking for in depth with my voltmeter.

I had the same symptom on mine and found it was the IP failing. It would start fine, but once I turned it off and tried to start it within one hour it would not start. A temp fix for this, if yours is having the same problem, is to pour cool water on the IP, it should start. If that is the case you would need a new IP. Best of luck on it.

Just remembered we did the Rosscommon 12v conversion. You might add that to your signature line so everyone will know...... ;-)

Check the battery voltage with the truck off and running.

I can not tell if the motor turned over well when you turned the key or if you had to add a jumper battery to get enough juice. If you did have to add a battery, and your system is generating then I would start by checking all your battery connections first.

It was attempting to turn over, but never did. During that time of trying to get it to run, the batteries drained more. At that point I hooked up a battery charger for about 20 minutes and after doing so it turned over and started.

I have two group 34 batteries I purchased from a green and white battery manufacture here in Dallas. Those were purchased in August, so they should be fairly fresh.

Since I have a 12 V system, I only have one alternator and only one generator light bulb that i should need. The GRN II bulb Seems to be working.

I am going to look at my battery connections and make sure they are all tightened down properly.
