just bought a M1028a2 dually

just bought this M1028a2 dually
going to pick her up tomorrow, right now I still don't know what to do with her... keep or sell??? I know they go for about $5 grand and heard these were relatively rare.
I 6.2L Diesel GM Turbo 400 Trans and cooler
Dana 60 limited slip locker
Dana 70 (as I just learned) with Detroit non slip locker
Manual Locking Hubs
4:56 Gears
Should clean up nicely

Nice MV , looks like the Fork Lift damage is not to bad , would look good with a new OD paint job . I have not seen many DUALLY 1028's . I would try and get it running first and check all the systems , then make your decision .

I cleaned her up today .
put some fresh oil in her. and Transmission and radiator fluid.
After charging the batteries , she fired right up ...purring like a Kitten.
Tomorrow, I'll get the tires sorted, then I'll make arrangements to get that forklift damage fixed a new fender put on
and then a new pass side rocker panel welded in. Then she's gonna be Olive green soon again

Got some new tires today.
She's coming around it seems.
Got the diesel running and topped off all the fluids , they have drained

Got all the lights sorted and changed the starter relay for the more powerful starter safe model
next up is to get rid of the ' lovingly placed forklift bash' and then paint her back in olive drab green
Do you guys know a good source for the paint? How much will I need you think?

Oh BTW I found that 'Testors transparent candy apple spray paint' is a great match for the red side markers.
Now I got to find a transparent Orange spray paint

383 green , I would say a gallon for everything , as far as the the paint there are MULTIPLE vendors on this site , some also use BEHER paint from Home Depot . Do a search on paint it will bring up LOTS of info .

Getting over the "You want me to use house paint?" thought is difficult. You will look hard to find someone here who is dissatisfied with their paint using it. Seems to be the best thing going .

Here is what she looks like as of today.
I am leaning toward selling her. So if you want her PM me with an offer.
Again it's a M1028A3 with 28.000 original miles courtesy of Air Force. They said I can get $5.000 for it.
I've done a few things to her since I got her. Like replacing all fluids and installed a new improved starter relay.
(the one from the forum here) I saw that the starter was new and the starter relay as well, So I didn't want to take a chance on it
and replaced it for the upgraded version.
Oh, I forgot, I got a new windshield, too.
