Morning,

Just wondering what the best application is to mount on my Blazer. There are a lot of used lights out there from a variety of vehicles, just not Blazers. Does anyone have an idea of which one will fit the best??

Thank you.

Do you by chance mean utility spot light? You want a movable one like police use on the A pillar or something lighting up the back of the truck in the tail gate area. More info please.

Sorry, yes, the ones that mount on the A pillar on the front, same as the police cars. It looks to be a tight fit on the blazer, so I am not sure if any will fit, although I believe I have seen several members who have done it.

I am going to mount twin work lights in the rear, but I am going to try and make sort of a drop down mount for them. This way they can be mounted tucked up inside the back tailgate roof and when needed, dropped down into place. I don't want them out in the open, saying steal me. Still working on the design.

You were right. Unity is a manufacturer of moveable spotlights. The CUCV ambulance has one through the roof. This wouldn't be a great idea on an off road truck. Unity (and competitors) likely made a model that will fit in the A-pillar but likely not in production. Have a looksee at 73-87 trucks that were FD owned to see what you can see. Much to be seen on Google.

Edit, check this out!

All Unity spot lights are the same diameter for the shaft, but come in different lengths for each application. Yes you can buy the mounting kit for our trucks and just about anything 0-60 years old. You need a 27 installation kit for driver and 27RH for passenger side. The exact model is 325GM, but you should be able to find a used one that will work as long as the shaft is long enough and has an adjustable chuck lock for the bracket.
