Tell you're wife you were out for a walk. And it followed you home. Then say."Can I keep it. Please, Please come on Please." I will take care of it, I will wash it and feed it and take it out a drive it from time to time. Oh, wait most of that is what you say if a dog follows you home

I have heard that it is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. I don't know, as this definitely does not pertain to me.

I used to tell MB that one of the other guys bought the "new" green truck but eventually she caught on.

Now she just says... "Make me a list of all that stuff and how much it's worth".

I wonder if she's plotting something?:papabear:

Sounds to me like a woman with a plan... Be careful if she starts giving you lemonade that has a antifreeze taste to it.

Mine gave me a load of crap for the two months we waited till I picked mine up. "What are you gonna do with that. It's to big. The neighbors are gonna hate us......" when I brought it home she asked to go for a ride.... never said a word..... Sunday I wake up working around the house and she said we need to go grocery shopping can we take the deuce? Lol she won't admit it but I know she thinks it's awesome. .....

If you think diesel fuel is high try buying hay in bulk.
It costs almost as much to make it as it sells for (speaking as someone who baled and stacked just over 1000 bales last year)...
Perhaps if she had to help bale it she wouldn't be as interested in hayburners (does NOT work in my case, I have to fight to be the one driving the tractor vs stacking hay in the wagon).

I learned long ago to have a "play money" fund and a "household" fund.

Everything I make at my day job goes into the household fund and I tell the wife she can do whatever she wants with it as long as the bills are paid.

That's good, but usually doesn't work. Usually: After 3 weeks she told you "The money is out, the fridge is empty and the children are hungry. WE need more money."

Just to explain things. What little bills we have (I've been working to bust out of debt since we bought our house) are paid first and foremost. The fridge is always filled. And I have no problem buying other things for the family first. (Matter of fact, I spent yesterday shopping with the wife/kids. Course that afternoon I bought some 2.5 ton rockwells LOL. I do understand priorities.

The is a lot to be said for the judicious use of bling bribery. The Boss Lady caught me bidding on HETT's right before her birthday. She got a pair of diamond earrings the day of. Got me out of the chithouse for a few days but there is a GL auction every week.

Well, yesterday I picked up some G-20 tires and PLS wheels. Unfortunately I only have one adapter plate for a wheel right now. But I have a friend that thinks he can have three more to me by the end of the week. A few pics...
