Hey everyone not sure if I'm the right section or what. New to this. But I got the guy at 300$ for what he says is a military trailer surge brakes 8lug. Now it has a metal belly and wooden sides? I thought these things had all metal sides? Atleast the ones I used in the military did?? Any way I'm looking for a good firewood hauling trailer to increase my capacity on my 3/4 ton truck. If this thing checks out I'm picking it up tommorow morning. Thanks fellas

That's an m116a2 flatbed trailer (same chassis as the m101a2 cargo trailer). The sides have been added. Its worth $300

It is an M101 that has had the original bed removed. May have been rusted out or they may have used it for a project. The frame. wheels and surge brakes are prob worth the 400 bucks.

Looks like I will be buying tomm... Figure if the wood goes bad that's an easy replacement. As long as it's stout enough to pull rounds out of the woods I'm happy!
i compared it to another naked trailer I found on google images. It was the plain frame and his axle looked a bit larger than the one I'm about to purchase but I don't know could be the picture

That's an m116a1. Its rated for the same weight as the a2. I would rather have the m116a2 since it has surge brakes and 8 lug chevy wheels.

They sit lower than a pickup truck bed

The trailer in question probably had a generator mounted on it. The most common use for these flatbed trailers is for generators.

Yes it is the same frame, you could swap a bed onto it easily.

I think you'll be very happy with it and it's certainly worth the price assuming everything works. I ramped my snow blower onto mine a bunch of times in the last couple of weeks. It'll carry your ATV easily but getting the wheels between the fenders will depend on the ATV's width. Measure before you go. You can always put short ramps over the fenders for the ATV.
