Nice tow bar hookup! Did you have a safety chain of some kind? I was pulling a Chevy Lumina with a short chain attached to a nylon tow strap with a clevis. The tow vehicle slowed up and put slack in the tow strap and the clevis pin proceeded to rub the black top and unthreaded the clevis bolt and it came free. I was left coasting with the tow vehicle getting on down the road without me. Word to the wise, safety wire any clevis used to tow or you may sitting in the road without to. We found the bolt and clevis body and reassembled for the last mile. Mark

Check out the first few Towbar photos you can see the Safety Chain hanging under the towbar. I agree it is mandatory to have Safety Chains in any towing situation.

what an adventure! good for you! Driving an M1008 from Ft Hood to SA was enough for me me!
