When I turn the ignition switch on, I am no longer hearing anything before I try to start. I heard that it might have something to do with the lift pump.

The lift pump does have voltage to it. Is there a way that I can trouble shoot and repair it? Do I have to drop the tank to remove the lift pump or can I just pull it out?

There is a little cap on top of the pump with a fuse inside. Start there. You don't have to drop the tank to lift the pump out, if it comes to that.

The fuse is of the slow blow variety. Read this thread:

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?49880-Fuel-Tank-Pump-Fuse

Here's a thread with some pointer on in-tank pump diagnostics:

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?39186-M35a2-in-tank-fuel-pump

You will be further ahead if you learn how to search this information. You can use this forum's search function ... OR you can search using Google. I found the stuff I shared with you by googleing "In tank pump fuse M35a2 Steel soldiers". I think you will find more information using google ... and including "Steel Soldiers"

Also ... here's the links to ALL the M35a2 manuals you will need:

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/forumdisplay.php?95-Technical-Manuals

Start reading.

Welcome to the big green machine.

I got my pump out of my m109 box truck without dropping the tank, I did have to rotate the pump a certain way before it would have clearance to come out though.
Its probably something I missed back then. I have since sold her, so I can't be certain. Thanks for the heads up for others though!

With the deuce , you can run without the pump untill or unless you let air into the system. If you pull the pump to sevice it you will lose prime. So check the fuse first in the top of the pump as mentioned, then if you wish to replace or repair the unit, make sure it is at a time period you don't wish to use the truck.
