When..... you go look at a non running truck and there is an empty case starting fluid on passenger side. I figured it either has a huffing issue or really dont want to start. I figure someone couldnt get it to run with that my 1 can wouldnt do any good.

Not a good sign, the case of fluid was probably used on all the trucks that will not start, especially in the cold w/ weak batteries.

Sounds like the fuel shutoff lever is in the off position

What type of truck?

A M931 will have the Cummins 250 in it. There is an emergency shutoff on top of the IP that may need to be reset. The emergency Shutoff cable is attached to it. When you pull the cable it shuts the fuel down. You can not reset it by just pushing the cable back in.

Would the mechanics known that hopefully? Its at a sale. Guess should posted it earlier maybe got lil further. There was no case just like 10cans in it. The coolant looked low in tank, oil was clean but oil pressure gauge was broke. Not much a gambler but may role dice on it.

The GP and GL employees more than likely have no clue. I have seen many auction trucks like that. Keeps the price low.

Never bid more than scrap price for a non-running anything (ask me how I knowauaauaaua ).
Yikes, take it a bad experience. Is there really much that goes wrong with these. I'm still a little worried seeing quite a few low mile rebuilds. Is this operator error cranking these past operating rps? Coming from trucking family used to seeing millon mile motors and seems I see alot these with rebuilds under 50k. Was a little agrivated I ask it if it was a good truck and it simply didnt reply, lol. Btw,whats tractor worth scrap.

you shouldn't be worried , you bought a surplused military truck. Attack everything with optimism. You might not know the answers, but you'll find them , and the resources are here

A friend of mine just bought a kubota dirt cheap because it was very hard to start, but they did not use either, because the owner did not know about the preheat.
