Way to make truck not start so people cant drive off in deuce

Whats a way you can make the deuce not start by turning it on in the cab? :?:

There are a number of ways. Search for Deuce Security in the search box. One of the easiaest ways is to put a locking switch inline with the battery cable. Most deuces have a chain that's welded to the driver's seat to wrap around the steering wheel. I also installed locking door handles on the cab.

Open the bleeder valve on the top of the fuel filters on the side of the motor. Good luck figuring that out.

Also, pull the plug on the fuel pump in fuel tank.

Pull the batteries out. Cut the battery cable. Drain all the fuel. Drain all the oil (it'll start but won't run for long). Pull off the fuel lines. Drain the radiator (it'll start but won't run long). Remove the injector pump. Remove the engine. Use a 30-06 with armor piercing ammo to shoot through the engine block. Remove the turbo. Insert log into fan blade thus breaking pulley (it might start but again, won't run long). Use sledge hammer on engine. 1/4 charge of C4 in appropriate place should do the trick. Hope that helps.

Or another thought is to trade it in for a CUCV and then you don't have to worry about it starting.

I have seen where guys swap the battery switch with a keyed switch (on a 5 ton anyways, assume they are similiar). Or take the switch handles off.

Locking the steering wheel chain is the simplest way though.

What, no one mentioned adding sugar in the fuel tank yet?

Besides the standard chain around the steering wheel, I personally opted for the non-destructive, non-permanent methods, such as: locking door handles (mostly just to prevent curious people with little social inhibitions from opening the doors to take a look at the truck and disengaging the park brake - some folks on here even fashioned a way to lock park brake handle), and a battery cut-off switch. I also put a lock on the battery door - not that it'll really stop much, then again, neither will the locking door handles with the gun-ring hole cut in the hard top or non-latching rear sliding window.

I'm of the opinion that adding a little more difficulty goes a long ways to making it "not worth it". Then again, I also don't think anyone would drive off with the truck but look more to steal smaller stuff inside the cab, tool boxes, or even fuel.

Removal of dogbone between batteries can make it hard, especially if you take it with you. There are several areas in the cab that can be interrupted with a hidden switch.

Those threads will cover all the options you have. You can disable the electrical system, chain up the steering wheel and/or pedals, lock the parking brake, lock the doors, etc.

One day when I have the flu and can't move off the sofa, I am going to combine all those threads into one epic security thread so that all the info will be in one place.

I assume whenever I see a post like this that the OP is concerned about general security or theft.

But this is the day and age of instant answers.

I was going to but then remembered it was a deuce. The a@#$%^&* down the street from me in GA tried that. It didn't work. Worked on my old camo CUCV I had but not on the deuce.
