put in new turbo, runs great again, have old turbo shaft moves in and out, can buy rebuilt kit for about 100 bucks or have rebuilt for about 300 bucks. brian it cost about 50 bucks just to sent it can't give it away.

What are the determining factors that determine when it's time to rebuild the turbo? After a hard failure, or is there some indicators that the turbo is in need of a rebuild?

Pull the intake tube off, grab the turbine shaft, and try to move it up and down, then in and out. A little movement is ok, but a lot is not.
