If that was me I'd wash it asap

Today I changed the master cylinder and I removed the air cleaner. I had a bushel basket of leaves down under the intake. So I washed the engine off with a water hose. No high pressure. Looks good enough. This vehicle is all original. I even think it has the original injection pump. DSCF6030.jpg

We've done a little work on the m1028 plow truck lately. Replaced the main wiring harness, seat, dash cluster, shift indicator, steering column, heater controls, blower motor, and all the hoses for the plow. Also bolted the rear bumper on with more than 2 bolts and added some bed anchors for the counterweight in the bed. Still need to get all the exterior lights working and change some tires around before it's ready for the road, but it's nice for the yard for now.

Put in the plugs and am going to have to do somthing about this one
new wix oil filter. Replaced the bolt I broke off for the brackets. Got my new kingpin springs and bushings
new stainless brake lines

Picked up a second spare rim. Going to work my way up to a full set and then clean them up and paint em!

Tapatalk issue - I've seen this in other threads over the last two weeks also...
Later on I sat in my CUCV while broswing steel soldiers, saw your post and though "I really hate tapatalk. As if it wasn't annoying enough when you were browsing on mobile, now it ruins the experience for desktop users when someone on mobile posts pics..."

The rig looks great, and that's a great counterweight set-up in the bed:

- The plow looks brand spanking new

Is that a new plow?
Thanks. The plow setup is a Fisher Speedcast from the mid to late 80s, I welded a few spots up and put some paint on it to slow down the rust. I'm only going to use it for the yard and another driveway or two so I'm trying to keep the cost low. The nice thing is I've already got a ton of CUCV parts so I haven't bought anything for it other than the plow which came off an f250 and some new hydraulic hoses.

Did king pin springs and bushings old ones didn't look bad so I doubt that was my problem. Got my new steering arm on and moved the cap to the drivers side.
Had to cut up the u bolt plates quite a bit because of the zero rate. Also had to drill out the pass side spring pad for the center pin.
got the wrong u bolt for the pass side
rachet strap till I can get a new one
other side with u bolts all torqued and good to go
didn't like the shackle angle so I moved the front spring eye forward on hole in the b52s. Thinking im going to have to get a new front driveshaft made but we'll see.

Looking good... you did murder your stock cast spring plates though. Ruffstuff makes a nice set out of 1/2" steel plate that are reasonably priced. Just have to drill a hole for the offset spring pack bolt.

You decide if you are going to go high steer or high steer with hydraulic assist?

Just crossover for now. Should be plenty as I'm only running 36s

The lift was open at my shop today so I took advantage and did some maintenance today. I greased everything that has a fitting and did a general checkup under the truck. No problems found. I put all new 13G glow plugs in just because. The ones that came out where in great shape. None where swollen so they all came right out. I never did change the fuel filter since I bought it so I did that today also.

As always everytime I do anything to this truck it all go's well. Come spring it will be due for an oil change and I'll do all the fliuds in the rears and transfer case at that time. I can't say this enough, It's nice to have a truck that is all stock. Everything works just like the general designed it.

Happy New Year.
