Filling the HD740 in the HEMTT

Guys,

I'm going nuts trying to figure out where to put the fluid back into the transmission on the HEMMT, the -12 and -34s refer to the drain point, but not the fill! I assume it goes back in through the level check tube, but that seems very, very slow. Is there another fill port?

Yeah that's how it is done on my A2 5-ton.. Back through the dipstick tube. The 4 gallons of trans fluid took a LONG time to put in, especially since it is in a bit of an awkward spot :(
I use 2 gallon jugs with a funnel, or wash out empty milk jugs and fill them from a 5 gallon pail, which is cheaper per gallon. Getting a bucket in the cab isn't fun, but splashing it everywhere makes me lose my religion.....

Ah.. You must have an A1. You're lucky enough to have a nice little "filler" door in the cab. In the A2, because the engine is smaller, the dipstick tube is in front of the firewall, kind of below where the turbo sits. A major pain having to strap in a long funnel with ties, then climb up and down the tire with 1 quart containers over and over again :(

Yes, A1 and a couple A0. Didn't realize the A2 was different, haven't gotten to own one of those yet.

I have a special funnel rigged up for my dodge transmission with 4 ft. of heater hose clamped to it, and stainless safety wire to hold the funnel up. Fun to work on and maintain some of this equipment when you are by yourself.

I'm curious.. Did you happen to take a picture? I can't say I've ever seen a picture showing where it is on those trucks..
I don't have the truck at hand, and this will be my second flush to get the fluid right. I went from the 15-40W in it, toe a TES-389 approved fluid, and now to a TES-289 fluid.

As I recall, you pop the hatch on the driver's side, and it's staring right at you.
