Why do the Hydraulic Head clips fall off.

I would be a little leery of using a power drill as that might cause scuffing and scoring in the bore . Manually moving the piston wouldn't hurt though.

ATF in the fuel should help I think. Adds lubrication and removes deposits. New diesel is probably too "dry". It's said such is the case for older 5.9 cummins engines...and these are much older.

Is there an ATF that is not colored RED?

The LEO's love the GREEN they bring into the coffers when they see RED in the fuel tank around some parts!
