Don't forget since 2013 Ga. is charging a 7% ad valorium tax on the purchase price. Ga. no longer charges a sales tax on motor vehicles. This is an issue when a retailer such as GP charges you a 7% sales tax at purchase time ,then you pay another 7% when you purchase the tag. You can recover your sales tax from GP, however it takes some time and documentation. This should not be an issue in this case, but Ga. will get 7%. Andrew is correct, if there is no prior registration in Ga. you will only need a bill of sale, not notarized, and a T22 form which is going to require the vehicle to be physically present for the GA.
