Just curious about the blue primer or....?

Just got my first CUCV road worthy. Lots of work every day after work till dark for three weeks. Anyway so now I can focus on some of the body issues. Ive noticed the green paint is missing on the bed, and its blue under the green USMC paint. I was thinking maybe the bed was replaced with a civilian bed at one point. Then today when I was working on the windows I noticed the back side of the door panel is blue. A friend of mine told me that the military probably received them from GM blue then painted them themselves? So can anyone shed some light on this.

Post pics and the first half of the VIN. The Air Force had a bunch of square body trucks painted strata blue. All.of these parts are and likely were interchanged with the CUCV.

So the VIN starts with
1GCGD34J

why did you ask for a pic of the VIN?

I I think I added a photo of the paint pealing. And the truck if it worked

I meant pics of the truck and the first few of the VIN. Wanted to confirm that it was a CUCV. My guess is swapped over parts. How many civilian owners before you? The right side fuel door is a dead giveaway. CUCVs never had that.

Sounds like your doors and bed have been swapped at some point in the trucks life.

No big deal. Just sand and repaint.

Do you have two fuel tanks?

Well the hardest part of installing the second tank is already done. The fuel door!

Search the old threads about a second tank install for the small parts required.

If you even want one of course.

So from the VIN you can tell its an CUCV ? not just a K30 wana be? I'm sure it is because of all the details like NATO slave connector, horn on the grill, blackout light system, tags on the driver door and jam, pintal hitch, also I noticed what looks like some kind of mount on the floor pan of the passenger side.
