Taking the plunge on a HMMWV

Well, we need a smaller truck than the HEMTT around the farm, so a HMMWV seems to fit the bill and provide a factor of cool. Won this guy earlier in the week, it's a runner, but likely will need some work here and there. Brakes are reportedly soft, needs batteries, probably tires in the future, and doors of course, and some seats... Always the fun process getting a new truck.

With one hard door... That may be worth enough to pay for your repairs and some soft doors! Maybe there are a couple more stashed in the bed. Congrats on the purchase!

The driver's rear is the one x door that is hard to get.... $500 firm.... that should offset some costs for you....

Ya I see the x doors are not cheap and I plan on making my own out of alum and steel.

Andy, I think this one will come to Lovettsville for some work before I send it to greener pastures. How's yours coming along? I'm sure I'll need some pointers! It's out in Kansas, so it will likely be trucked back some time in the distant future when my EUC clears....

Regarding the doors, I think I'll want to go soft skin, but I may build some appropriate AR500 doors at some point if the mood ever suits me.

Good deal DK ...looking forward to seeing it. You will find it easier to work on than the HEMTT. I might have a few doors for you , have to take a look they have been in the barn loft for 15 yrs!.. AR500 doors will be heavy! Did you see the pic of yours on e-pay....looks like they were using the pic for a file photo!

Andy, I saw that too! Take a look for those doors, I would be happy to get them local to save on the shipping. I contact the ebay guy, I believe he changed it, and asked if I would like to buy some doors from him.
