I know that you can run the 1200rs (277s) on stock wheels, I do not know about the XMLs

Something to match the 395 in height? (taller than the G177)

1. I have seen dualled 12:00 tires on a deuce, but years ago and I think they were an old bias ply tire. They definitely weren't a
"modern" tire lie an XL, T831 or G177.

2. I have a set of dualled G177s on my deuce and I can almost guarantee you won't get anything larger on the truck dualled. The inner tires are so close to the trunnion that several members have had issues with the tires rubbing on the bolts of the dust cover.

3. My 177s stick out just a hair out from under the bed. I think a 12:00 would be a bit worse and just cosmetically, I don't care for it.

4. You won't be able to run a spare on the stock spare tire carrier. Maybe if you modify it or get an M35A3 carrier it would work, the M35A3 has 14:50R20 tires and it has a spare.

5. Goodyear says an 11:00R20 G177 is 43.3" (http://www.goodyear.ca/cfmx/web/truckca/line.cfm?prodline=161006), a 12:00R20 G177 is 44.7" (https://www.goodyear.com/cfmx/web/gov/pdf/military_tire_brochure.pdf) and a 395/80R20 is 46.6" (see brochure pdf). So you're already pretty close.

Good pics Clinto! The only think I disagree with is the ability to mount the spare with G177s. Perhaps your mount is positioned too far forward or back? My 365's (same size as the 14.5x20) are the same diameter and I can shoehorn one into the spare mount.

SpecialT is correct about the tire sizes. I'm not aware of a 12x20 out there, but would check the Michelin and Goodyear web sites. I observe that the G177's almost touch depending on load and tire pressure. I imagine that a 12x20 mounted with this wheel offset would cause them to rub one another, which is something I would avoid and likely violates some sort of DOT regulation.

My buddy has G177's on his truck and as mentioned sometimes bump into the trunnion screw heads. I would prefer to use button head cap screws for the cover and perhaps add a 1/4 inch spacer under the duals to that they clear properly.

I personally think running the 14.5R20 or 365/80R20 on the front and G177's dualed on the rear is a wonderful setup. I do not like 395's as you cannot run chains on the rear and they have other clearance issues.

I'd never heard of them. Goodyear Military tire catalog page coutouts below (I saved the military pages as a pdf but dunno how to share that here). Basically, they are an inch wider and taller (G177 43.7 and G272 44.7). I imagine these 12's on deuce wheels would badly exceed the recommended dual spacing and rub.

I've seen a few Duces with the 1200R20 Michelin XML out here in WA. The drive them singled out and I think look pretty sharp especially on the old gassers. The used striker tires are fairly abundant.

Great FUNCTIONAL and looking setup if you ask me. ;-)

With the 1100R20 Michelin XZL's I have hauled 12 ton lots of times without any issue. About .5" narrower and about .5" shorter than the G177's. Function over looks.
The 365/80's on the front were a helpful addition also.
