General Hood, yes this guy we met got this as a guard. So it looks a little bit friendly for street use. We also build us a guard for street/highway use and never get stopped by police, (since today)Unimog SEE Ausfahrt29.12.13 008.jpg

Has anyone ever tried replacing the windshield? Mine has a pretty serious crack in it and although it has "character" I'm probably going to have to deal with it at some point. I saw that EI has a windshield for sale although it sounds like they come in broken more often than not. The procedure makes it sound like no big deal but I'm guessing the TM is leaving out about 4 hours or more worth of F bombs.
I saw quite a few SEES with damaged windshields at the auction lot. I wonder if Safelite would make a home visit to replace a SEE windshield? It would make a great TV commercial

Just bought an HMMH

Greetings Gentlemen.
i just wanted to introduce myself. My name is James and have been a long time Unimog owner of several models, currently own a 1550L DoKa cab and a couple G's. I just put down a deposite on this beautiful HMMH and am really stoaked about it. I have been collecting knuckleboom cranes to mount to my 1550, but honestly haven't been very excited about the process. This HMMH will save me that task and honestly be a better solution, and it has a bonus forklift!
i will have plenty of question about the unit, but bring a bit of general Unimog knowledge to the table. I look foreword to chatting about it.
I should drive out to pick her up in a couple weeks, pics to follow.

General Hood might be very interested in the remote start feature. He has one SEE which he can't get started in normal fashion, but maybe the remote would do the trick. If nothing else, he could continue his attempts from the comfort of the couch, instead of having to be out in the weather.
Just make sure it's in neutral... or face it away from the living room if sitting on the couch!!
How about the fuel shut off position and battery shut off??

DSCN1381[1].jpg Over all, a good day. Finally got the leaky ex-spare (now RF on the SEE) to stop leaking. Also got the oil changed (FINALLY) on the former parts SEE. Happy to see that it looked a lot like what I poured back in...it was clean.
Another nice surprise was the new style primer pump. I'm starting to really like this former parts SEE. A lot.

That's what a SEE is meant to do. Not waste away in some gov. lot for 30 years. Glad you have the opportunity to move some dirt around, be it work or play
So what's the difference, General Hood, between one that sits unused in a government lot and yours that sits unused in your lot?
At least the gov. boys could probably get theirs started if they wanted to. (Sorry, couldn't resist kicking you while you're down).

You'll just have to watch it yourself. I don't do screen captures off my TV.
I was just "bustin' chops" mkcoen; please don't mind me. And I don't know if you mean the original Don Johnson show (Classic!), or maybe some newer version.

Is that show actually still going on?!
